In this section you can read more about how you apply to study at the member universities in the Øresund University consortium.
Please note that even though the universities in the Øresund University consortium are collaborating, international students must always apply directly to the institution at which they wish to study. You cannot apply to 'the Øresund University'. Each institution may have different procedures and deadlines for application, but they all share important rules and procedures for admission, and you can read more about them on these pages.
There are three main categories of international students who come to the Øresund Region every year: Exchange students, guest students and full degree students. There are different admission procedures for each group of students, so please read the following guidelines carefully. Exchange Students Exchange students are students who are already enrolled at a university that has an exchange agreement with one of the 12 universities in the Øresund University consortium. Through the exchange coordinator at their home university, students can apply to come to the Øresund Region to study for one or two semesters and afterwards they can transfer the credits obtained to their home university. If you wish to apply for an exchange stay, you should contact the coordinator at your home university in your department or your international office in order to enquire about your possibilities of studying in the Øresund Region. Guest Students Guest students are students who are enrolled at a university which does not have an exchange agreement with a university in the Øresund Region, but who wish to come here to study for one or two semesters. Unlike exchange students, guest students do not enrol through any kind of exchange programme or bilateral agreement, but arrange their studies abroad themselves. The rules of admission for guest students are individual for each of the 12 universities in the Øresund University. Therefore, if you wish to apply to study at one of the Øresund Universities as a guest student, you should contact the university offering the studies you are interested in. Learn more about the admission rules for guest students either by visiting the homepage of the international offices or by contacting the international office at the university you wish to apply for. Find a list of the international offices for the 12 universities here. Full Degree Students Full degree students (or 'ordinary students') are students who apply to the universities in order to study a full degree programme. Degree students can apply for a bachelor's or a master's programme (or a PhD programme; read more about PhD options here). Please note that in Sweden, you can apply for individual courses as well as full study programmes. After admission to and completion of a number of individual courses equivalent to a full time study programme, a student can apply to merge them together into a degree. Read more about the Swedish education system here. When applying to a university, full degree students must fulfil the same requirements as Danish or Swedish students who apply for a degree at a Danish or Swedish university respectively.
The Admission requirements section explains the admission criteria for full degree students in more detail.
